Well, that’s about it. I hope this sequence has been able to give you some guidance for how to choose a major. If you’re still uncertain, don’t despair. The fact that you’re reading this indicates you’re making an effort to live a thoughtful, meaningful life. I applaud you for that, and I feel confident you’ll get somewhere great eventually if you maintain that effort.

If you’re stuck on this particular decision, you have a few options. You can make no decision (and start college undecided), try out one of your best options, or find a way to combine multiple options using double majors or a minor. However you do it, the key is to get out there and start trying. That’s how you learn what you like, get better at things, and build a life.

In the process, don’t lose track of who you are. Make an effort to maintain your hobbies, your interests, and the friendships that matter to you. These are the things that will carry you through the long and winding process of growing up. Don’t let all the hype around college cause you to abandon the parts of your life that make it worth living.

So, make the best choice you can now, and see where it takes you. Good luck!
